I struggle with a relationship in my life and it’s often stretching my capacity to love. This person, is someone I love with all my heart. Our problem is communication.

Our inability to communicate strains our relationship. Because we love each other, we avoid being ourselves to avoid conflict. Even the smallest mistakes can leave us both frustrated with each other.

A few months ago, I was trying to put this person in the box of how “I feel“, what “I see”, and what “I understand” about the world. This is simply not the world he lives in.

Today, I am encouraging you to see yourself through the lens of the person who frustrates you. It is your responsibility to love the person who is hardest to love. This person may push you to the edge of where love seems impossible.

This person might be your object lesson for how God loves us.

If you believe in God or call yourself a Christian, love is capable of breaking strongholds. It is in your commission to chisel the sword of love because of its ability to heal over the wreckage of sin.

Sin has the ability to make good people, very broken. And broken people, hurt people, which in term continues the cycle of brokenness.

It might be your job today to end the cycle.

Prayer: Dear God, it’s not easy to believe you can change people. It’s not easy to believe you will help me love someone well. Today, I am asking your love to end the cycle of brokenness in myself and in others.
