If you are looking to live up to the laws, you are already starting your day (or ending it) wrong.
Sitting in church one day, I was filled to the brim with sins of my past, present, and areas where I hadn’t worked it out with God.
“Why are you constantly looking to be found wrong in me? I love you as you are. This moment – and every moment to come.”
Today, you might be unhappy with your own life. You might not feel enough in your personal, professional, or public life. You might not feel like you can hold your own or even face your family, friends, and Christianity community.
This is not God’s opinion of you.
“Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.” (Matthew 5:17)
I believe God’s laws are meant to govern and help us find clarity in a world completely filled with chaos. These laws, however, could never be accomplished by any human being.
God knew that. It’s why He sent his Son to die for you
Today, I hope you can give yourself a break from accomplishing the laws in your own right. I hope you can look at yourself and be reminded of who God sees when He looks at you:
Prayer: Father, please help me to remember your sacrifice was on purpose. It was meant for days when I don’t have enough grace for myself. I trust you to begin to help me learn the intensity of your love for me, especially for moments when I least deserve it.
